2012 Holistic Tribal Development Programme Selected as one of the Good Environment-Friendly Practices in Gujarat by Gujarat Ecology Commission and World Around You.
2009 BAIF declared as a Centre of Excellence in the field of Rural Technologies for improvement in livelihood and quality of life relating to the Scheduled Tribes by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, GoI.
2008 BAIF recognised by the Ministry of Finance, GoI under section 35 (1) (ii) of the Income Tax Act, 1961 for carrying out Scientific Research.
2006 BAIF's Models for Poverty Alleviation and Tribal Rehabilitation received a boost in a reference made in the President of India's Address to the Nation on the Eve of Republic Day, 2006.
2006 The Government of India, Ministry of Tribal Affairs made a Recommendation to all the State Governments to replicate the Wadi Model under Special Central Assistance to Tribal Sub-Plan.
2002 The farmpond model in Karnataka "Networked Ponds transform drylands, India" was one of the top 10 cases selected for the Smart Commons Mosaic focussing on innovative water management solutions all over the world on the website of Ashoka Foundation, Kolkata. This model was also appreciated and included in "Stories from India - Learnings from the Past, Innovating for the Future", presented by the Ministry of Environment and Forests, GoI during World Summit on Sustainable Development.
2000 BAIF's Semen Freezing Laboratory at Central Research Station, Urulikanchan received ISO 9002 Certificate for quality system in processing and freezing of cattle and buffalo semen, from TUV Management Service, Munich, Germany.
1999 Adivasi Development Program at Dharampur in Valsad district of Gujarat registered as an EXPO 2000 Project by the EXPO 2000 GmbH in Hannover, Germany.
1999 The Adivasi Development Programme in Gujarat was the only Project selected by German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and presented at the UNDP Forum of Ministers on Poverty and Environment, New York, as a replicable model for poverty alleviation.
1998 "Conjunctive use of Water Resources in Deccan trap area", Research Project jointly implemented by BAIF and the University of Windsor, Canada was one among 50 success stories on environmental management and international development, selected for presentation at the Sixth session of the UN Commission for Sustainable Development (CSD6) in New York. The success story was featured with other selections as a worldwide web document on the CSD6 website.
1989 BAIF was designated as a Regional Resource Agency of the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India for coordinating the National Environmental Awareness Campaign in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh Goa, Daman and Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli.
BAIF is recognised by the Savitribai Phule Pune University to conduct post graduate studies and research leading to M.Sc., M.Phil. and Ph.D degrees in Environment Science, Bio-Chemistry, Applied Biology, Reproductive Physiology and Nutrition.
The BAIF Central Research Station is recognised as a Centre for pursuing certificate and degree courses in agriculture and related topics of the Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University, Nashik.
The BAIF Central Research Station is recognised by the Maharashtra Animal and Fishery Sciences University, Seminary Hills, Nagpur as an institute for providing means of instruction and research to partially meet the requirements of the University for Post Graduate studies in Veterinary Science and doctoral studies in Animal Genetics and Breeding, Animal Reproduction, Veterinary Medicine, Animal Nutrition, Animal Management, Veterinary extension,Fisheries, Biochemistry and Dairy Science.
Accreditation to BAIF Central Research Station, from Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers' Welfare, GoI for training AI technicians from August 2016 to August 2018.
The Sericulture Laboratory at the BAIF Central Research Station is recognised by Savitribai Phule Pune University and Shivaji University, Kolhapur for doctoral studies.
