Work Experience: 32 years with BAIF Development Research Foundation, an Indian Non-Profit Organisation working for sustainable rural livelihood and climate actions since last 57 years. The operations cover 100,000 villages in 16 states reaching out to 4 million rural poor families. BAIF’s Mission is to create opportunities of gainful self-employment for the rural families, especially disadvantaged sections, ensuring sustainable livelihood, enriched environment, improved quality of life and good human values.

Academic Qualifications: PhD – IIT Bombay; MBA; Masters in Engineering; Bachelor of Engineering

Key Responsibilities, Expertise and Achievements: Implemented innovative, sustainable and scalable rural livelihoods, natural resource management and climate action programmes in diverse agro-ecological regions which included Himalayan terrain, arid areas of Western India, Western Ghats, Ravines of Uttar Pradesh and semi-arid areas of Central and Southern India.

As a Sustainable Development professional, he undertook several international and domestic assignments for many organizations including India Canada Environment Facility (ICEF), Plan International, Concern World Wide, Sathguru Management Consultants Pvt Ltd, IWMI, Tata Trust, Hindustan Unilever Ltd, CCAFS and USAID. He also played an Advisory role for many civil society organizations and a few state Government Departments in the country.

Publications: He has about 30 publications to his credit including watershed manuals, case studies, research reports and papers on sustainability, livelihood and natural resource management.
