Though I had seen BAIF’s excellent work in some remote parts of India, the visit to HQ today, has been an eye- opener. The scope and range of work is impressive. I hope BAIF continues on this path and add more technology and purpose to this great effort.
– T. Nanda Kumar, Chairman, NDDB, June 18, 2015

Visit to BAIF research station has been an eye opener. The institute is doing an excellent job both in crop and animal husbandry. I wish the institution and its officers all the success in all their endeavours in the years to come.
– Shri. Parkash Singh Badal, Chief Minister, Punjab, June 9, 2015

For my first visit to India, I m glad honoured to have been invited to visit BAIF. INRA and BAIF know each other from a long-term collaboration. The work done by BAIF in the domain of livestock improvement is impressive , since 1946. I have learnt here that many other domains are covered and also open for collaboration. This may give the chance to collaborate for the next 35 years.

It was a foundation day at BAIF – an institution of both eminence and relevance – and of an exceptional character & standing. I saw how deep commitment to the cause of the rural poor can be transformatively nation building. All the very best as 2017 approaches, the Golden Jubilee year of this great institution.
– Dr. Raghunath Mashelkar, National Research Professor, National Chemical Laboratory, August 24, 2012

Today, I visited BAIF at Urulikanchan, Pune. BAIF has been providing invaluable services to the rural farmers by providing them all the animal care services at their doorstep. In our predominantly agrarian economy in rural India, dairy is a very important component in the lives of rural folk. I feel that a right mix of farming and dairy can bring the people out of clutches of poverty. I hope that BAIF keeps abreast of the latest technology and continues to provide services to the poor and needy. I wish them all the best!
– H.E. K. Sankaranarayanan, Governor of Maharashtra August 10, 2011

I am very happy to visit BAIF, Urulikanchan after a long period and see the excellent work being done to convert Pujya Manibhai’s vision into reality. The BAIF model of integrated rural development is the pathway to “Poorna Swaraj”. The work on linking livestock and livelihoods, and on promoting sustainable self-help groups, is most relevant and impressive. I wish the entire BAIF family continued success in making a difference in the lives of the poor. – Dr. M.S. Swaminathan, Vice Chairman, BAIF, August 24, 2010

The visit has been far too short but the organization BAIF is unique in that it is grounded in Gandhian values – something very rare. The variety of areas it is working in are extremely worthwhile for the least privileged in our country. I hope that the partnership between NDDB and BAIF will take AI service and good genetics to many many more farmers and raise their livelihoods. Thank you for the warmth of your hospitality.
– Dr. Amrita Patel, Chairman, NDDB, February 11, 2008

It is remarkable institute where farmers who are interested to improve help them to do so. I appreciate staff’s dedication.
– Dr. Sudha Murty, Chairperson, Infosys Foundation, Bangalore and former Trustee, BAIF, September 12, 2003

It has been more than useful to visit the realization of BAIF on this research center that is doing important results for the development of agriculture in India. European Union is proud to participate, financially and technically in the important process.
– Mr. Michel Caillouet, Ambassador, Head of Delegation, European Commission, New Delhi, June 5, 2001

My visit was too short. However, it was inspiring to see the commitment, the science, the effectiveness of all of you who are part of BAIF and who work with poor people to change their lives.
– Dr. Maureen O’Neil, President, IDRC, Canada, February 22, 2001

A long awaited opportunity to see at first-hand the first class cooperation between European Commission and BAIF. Best wishes for a courageous and fruitful continuation.
– Mr. M.B. McGeever, Ambassador of the European Commission, New Delhi on April 9, 1999

I am particularly overjoyed to visit this institution when it is celebrating its Silver Jubilee. During these 25 years, we have observed the multidimensional growth achieved by this organisation which is mainly due to the inspiring leadership of Manibhai Desai. What is important today is when we talk in terms of eradication of poverty, such organizations like BAIF should be replicated throughout the country.
– Bharat Ratna Shri. C. Subramaniam, Governor of Maharashtra at BAIF’s Silver Jubilee celebration on August 24, 1992

I have with great interest and admiration seen your extensive and forward- looking initiative and work to the benefit of the people of India – and to humanity.
– Madame Gro Harlem Brundtland, Prime Minister of Norway and Chairman, World Commission on Environment and Development, July 8, 1987

It is very pleasant to be able to come back so soon to visit this exciting center. This time I brought my associates. We greatly appreciate your kindness and hospitality.
– Mr. Richard Wilson, Director, IDRC, Canada, December 3, 1986

My compliments to Dr. Manibhai Desai and to the research workers for doing excellent work. Much more important is the research being taken to the field.
– Shri. S.B Chavan, CM, Government of Maharashtra, November 30, 1986
