Dr. Sharma, a highly revered and senior IAS Official, was an admirer of BAIF from the time of her association as Secretary to the Government of India, Ministry of Rural Development, Principal Secretary to the Government of Uttar Pradesh, as Head of the Watershed Development Fund established by NABARD and as Joint Secretary in charge of the National Advisory Council. Dr. Sharma graciously accepted the invitation to join the BAIF Board of Trustees in 2020. Since then, her valuable advise on governance, pro poor and pro environment programmes helped BAIF to strengthen its programmes. BAIF has lost an eminent professional and a kind hearted human being.

Dr. Sharma was associated with the World Agro Forestry Centre and Centre for International Forestry Research. She was also on the Boards of some Non-profit organisations and private companies.

BAIF team deeply mourn her demise and convey their heartfelt condolences to all the members of the bereaved family. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
