BAIF at COP29, Azerbaijan
An expert delegation from BAIF Development Research Foundation is participating in the 29th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) from November 14-22, 2024 at Baku, Azerbaijan.
BAIF will be hosting and participating in a series of events in the Blue and Green Zones with partner organizations from India and across the world. BAIF will be jointly organising a UNFCCC official Side Event with ILRI, EDF, IDF and IDRC on the theme “Animal health, mitigation and adaptation: Innovative financing for sustainable livestock development”. High segment dialogues will be organised by BAIF on “Livestock Induced Emission Management” and “Climate Smart Pathways in Sustainable Agrifood Systems” at the thematic pavilion. BAIF delegates will also be attending various events as invited speakers and participating in the UNFCCC Exhibit Booth 38 from November 14-16.
BAIF has been impacting the lives of about 4 million families across 100,000 villages in 16 states of India annually. The livelihood programmes ensure carbon positive development, reduction of enteric methane emissions, soil health management, land degradation neutrality, grassland management, promotion of clean energy, carbon sequestration through agro-horti-forestry and nature-based practices in agriculture.
As a UNFCCC-accredited Observer Organisation to COP29, BAIF aims at accelerating its efforts to collaborate with global organisations and facilitate local organisations in addressing climate challenges.
