Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav launched by Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi to commemorate the 75th year of Indian independence, was celebrated by Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) at Sambalpur in Odisha, under its Comprehensive Community Development Programme – Utthan. On this occasion, an awareness creation workshop was organized for local land resource optimization through Agri-Horti-Forestry (Wadi) model, which enlisted the participation of 150 farmers.

International Women’s Day was celebrated with active participation of women at Angul in Odisha with focus on empowerment of women and enterprenuership to enable them to improve their economic status and to enhance the scope of their involvement in various micro enterprises.
